I'm used to seeing Light Yagami as a long and lean character, so I didn't recognize him right away. But yeah, this does look like him, especially with the sweeping bangs. I like the title, too, since Death Note didn't clearly delineate who was the bad guy and who was the good guy. It made the viewer think, and that's what I loved about the show.
